SDMOM was named one of the best charities in America.

Independent Charities of America includes SDMOM as one of the Best in America. Did you know that 97.3 % of our donated resources goes out to the military families with only 2.7% spent for administration and fund raising? Thanks to our dedicated volunteers. 

In May 2010, SDMOM received a Certificate of Appreciation from Major General Thomas L. Conant, Commanding General, Third Marine Air Wing and  Colonel Frank A. Ritchie, Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar: The Certificate reads as follows:

" For your constant, faithful and devoted service to the Marines, Sailors and family members of the Third Marine Aircraft Wing and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. Your devotion, dedication and endless support to service members and their families have left a lasting positive impact on our ability to accomplish our missions. On behalf of the Marines and Sailors of the Third Marine Aircraft Wing and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, please accept our sincerest appreciation for your contribution and your compassionate understanding in the role of a Marine Corps volunteer. You have become a vital member of our Marine Corps Family and as a result, have substantially improved the readiness of our families and Marine Corps Units. In August 2009, SDMOM received a check from the Century Club of San Diego at a recent luncheon. SDMOM is one of the recognized charities supported by proceeds from the Buick Invitational Golf Tournament in San Diego organized by the Century Club. Vice President Mike Sipe on the right and Director of Operations Barbara Chavez received the check.

On September 22, 2009, SDMOM received an Organizations Helping Children award at Fleet Week San Diego Heroes Appreciation Luncheon.

On June 26, 2009, SDMOM received a Certificate of Appreciation From Colonel G. T. Habel, Commanding Officer, Recruit Training Regiment, Marine Corps Recruit Depot: "In recognition of your support and generous donation to the Recruit Training Regiment and it's family members for the Recruit Training Regiment Family Day."

.SDMOM received Certificate of Appreciation from Fleet and Family Support Center, Navy Region Southwest in 2007.

"for your continued support throughout the year of ........... military families in the San Diego region."

 SDMOM recognized "as an Everyday Hero" by Lift Up America.

Channel 10 presented a Community Leadership award in 2007 to SDMOM Director, Barbara Chavez.

Presbytery of San Diego presented a Leadership Award in 2007 to President Chuck Smith.
